This could become a very good discussion here, as long as no one starts name-calling. I don’t think this man is “depraved” so much as misusing his terms. Slavery strongly implies doing something against your will. Gastro is right to find this off-putting. Slavery as we understand it has no place in it for LOVE. Love for the Lord will provide all the motivation you need. You need not be enslaved, and beaten into submission if you have the love. Where he says “slave” just replace it with “love.”
I think that is because Americans in general have a big misconception of the word “slavery”. When we hear this word, it immediately takes us back to the 1800’s and we use that as tool for defining for what slavery means. Being a slave for Christ is not entirely the same. But I can see how the gospel can get twisted, and to what “Lord” and “Saviour” really means to the depraved mind.
If you are worried about slavery to Christ scaring away new christians then you may be right. But sugar coating it and presenting a false gospel is not the answer
Matthew 7:13-14 13″Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
I guess gastro62 rather us preach something little more convincing, we need to talk about the truth!
Ya but where did the chords come from? Everything in this universe has a beginning. There is not one particle in the universe which comes from nothing. everything has a beginning/formation. Logically, the universe must originate from an infinite force -God.
Come and see my video about what the bible teaches about the wrath of God and who it is revealed against. It is not revealed against the general public. Come and find out.. seek truth and be set free
The New Testament was originally written in Koine Greek, so if we want the definitive version we have to use this. The King James Version penned nearly 1,600 yrs later cannot be more definitive than this. If one examines the original Greek text then the Greek word doulos is clearly evident & in this context refers to slave.
Check out Matthew 25:21 online with the Greek bible study. It displays the KJV, NASB, ESV & the original Greek version on the same page for comparison.
Slave it is then!
So tell me this, Which revision of the KJV is the truth? You do know you have the 4th revision today and all of them have diferences….Which one is innerrant? If there is differences how do you know which one has NO errors?
Also what about the other english bibles before the KJV…They werent inspired?
And also what about the 5200 manuscripts that have been used as bibles all over for centuries? God was useing curruptions?
God didn’t have a final authority till 1611?Give us a break!LOL

Truth is always a beautiful thing-especially when presented with total Scriptural clarity. Perfect.

I love the King James Bible because it IS THE TRUTH which obviously you and Johnny-boy despise.
Now be a good slave and shut up.
